Job Description

Provides energy efficiency education and assists members participating in the Cooperative’s rebate and incentive programs. Assists members in identifying opportunities to reduce high-energy bills. Provides technical support for the Cooperative’s satellite internet subscribers and contract installers.

General Job Requirements

  • Shall be familiar with Cooperative Bylaws, Policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Stays informed of general Cooperative issues and attends related training classes.
  • Must be highly proficient in troubleshooting and use of personal computers, hardware, networking and programs including Microsoft Office Suite and general office equipment.
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communication, including telephone skills and public speaking. Ability to communicate technical data in a clear and concise manner.
  • General knowledge of electrical wiring and telecommunication technology and practices, HVAC systems, residential construction practices, and thermodynamics are required.
  • Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, confidentiality, dependability, and flexibility along with initiative and motivation to organize and complete tasks and meet deadlines, acting independently and with minimum supervision and direction.
  • Shall perform duties and assignments, and conduct self in such a manner as to reflect credit on the Cooperative and contribute to an increasingly better understanding and harmonious relations with the members and general public.
  • A professional appearance is important along with excellent skills in human relations with the ability to work as a team member.
  • Promotes and follows safe practices, procedures, and safety rules and participates in scheduled Safety Meetings.
  • Physical demands include carrying tools and ladders, climbing, accessing and working in limited spaces, hiking over rough terrain while carrying equipment, and sitting or standing at a computer workstation for long periods of time using repetitive hand/arm motion.
  • A valid driver’s license in their state of residency is required.

Job Duties:

  • Assists Director of Member Relations in maintaining harmonious relations with members.
  • Assists members participating in energy efficiency programs, including field inspections and processing any energy efficiency rebates.
  • Performs energy audits to identify and recommend cost-effective energy efficiency measures, including evaluating HVAC systems, insulation, windows and doors.
  • Assists members with high bill concerns and analysis of usage patterns including site visits, troubleshooting and sub-metering members’ equipment.
  • Helps members determine loads, insulation levels and recommended uses of material and equipment related to the wise and efficient use of electricity. Encourages wise and efficient electrical end-use applications and practices among the members.
  • Performs promotional activities including safety demonstrations, home shows and other community and member-focused activities.
  • Prepares Member Services’ correspondence, reports and other materials as necessary.
  • Assists in the preparations for the Annual Meeting, Town Meetings and other Cooperative and community events.

Education/Experience

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Business, Energy Management, or similar discipline and 3 years’ experience or high school diploma/GED and at least 5 years’ work experience in a related position.

Supervision

  • Responsible to and under the direct supervision of the Director of Member Relations.
